I leave tomorrow morning for a 4-day backpacking trip in the Wind Rivers of Wyoming. This will be my fifth or sixth time there, all of them with my father and grandmother. (This photo is from my first visit in 2008.) I’ll be bringing some disposable cameras and a sketchbook and nothing electronic.
What I wore yesterday to a barbecue. We brought Sage along and they all loved her!
I’ve been collecting rocks since I was very small – when I was two or three, I asked for a box of rocks for my birthday, and my parents obliged! My collection has gotten more serious in the past few years, consisting of mostly of quartz and celestine, but it is still quite modest. I intend to grow my collection of rocks and minerals, so I bought these three pieces from Turiya’s in Sugarhouse yesterday! They are terribly gorgeous and reasonably priced. (Yesterday was a great day all around. My fiancé and I visited Coffee Garden, bought some magazines published as far back as the 1940’s, found some winners in Urban Outfitters’ clearance section, and saw Death Cab for Cutie perform in Pioneer Park. These are a few of my favorite things!)
